Here is my submission to the LOC's request for comments and notice of inquiry on orphan works... there are over 700 comments!.

BTW, did you notice that you can't copy and past text from the comments!!! What's up with that?!?! How are the reply commentors supposed to quote?!?!

    I think I figured out why the PDFs are DRM'd. It's because the personal information is blocked out with white boxes, and without the DRM you could delete the boxes and see people's email addresses.

    Not a smart way to get rid of the personal info, but I don't think it's to keep you from cutting and pasting the main text.

    You can copy & paste using xpdf to read the PDF files.
