No Fulbrights for UC Berkeley grads this year... FedEx fucked it all up!

Typically half of UC Berkeley graduate applicants to the prestigious Fulbright scholarship program make the cut... not this year. Due to FedEx installing bunk software on the pick-up date, they didn't pick-up the applications. Further, the Department of Education has refused to consider any of the 30 Berkeley applications. This is straight fucked-up. It is not a failure upon our part... but on the part of an intermediary. Why should we be liable for a mistake on the part of FedEx? If FedEx had lost the applications somewhere down the line, the DoEdu would have allowed resubmission... why not in this case? Posted by joebeone at Febrero 6, 2004 11:43 AM
