My interview with Mike LaVella...

My interview with Mike LaVella of Gearhead records just went live on Clink (so did my top ten). What didn't get documented in the process was how much fun I had at the photo-shoot with Gearhead co-owners Mike LaVella and Michelle Haunold as well as their art director Jeremy Stoner... all for just two small shots in the text. I've put up some of the best pictures here on my site... that's a little slice of punk rock history, right there. From the fridge full of cheap beer... a gorgeously striped computer... the Gearhead tiki bar... the wall of band-signed posters... the gigantic Donnas poster... and, finally, the roof of the tiki bar which holds one inscribed drumstick for every Gearhead band that plays in the Bay Area (even if only for two songs).
